CREAM – BERKELEY, CA – USA - Entrance sign

Bring on the sweetest sandwich ever. Cream this.

Mark my words: The combination of freshly baked cookies and ice cream is taking the world by storm… or soon will be. Cream was one of the first establishments with this genius idea, starting in a small corner store right on Telegraph, smack in the middle of Berkeley. Their variety of options of  soft and tasty ice cream combined with luscious freshly baked cookies put them at the front of the ice-cream-cookie-sandwich war. Combining Banana Fudge Walnut with a double chocolate chip cookie proved a stroke of genius.

The very friendly staff will help you with your decision if you are to overwhelmed by the prospect of what is to come. Squeezing delectable frozen happiness between squishy baked joy hits the spot on a hot summers day in college student central.

Visually, the store itself is not worth mentioning; I have seen basements that looked more inspired. But the smell of freshly baked cookies takes over as soon as you walk into CREAM, leaving your jaw open and your taste buds craving what you smell, and a couple of minutes later you’re back outside. Hopefully it’s a sunny day and as the sandwich begins to melt over your fingers you take that first bite and pray to god it won’t give you a heart attack. And even if it does, maybe it’s a good way to go. In the end you’ll agree that looks don’t matter.

bliss.
