26 chambers of Daniel

On the quiet Rue Frederic Bastiat is the very extraordinary Hotel Daniel and it is truly on of a kind. The interior of this townhouse hotel is decorated by Tarfa Salam and takes you on a trip through Asia with rich vivid fabrics, damask sofas and hand painted wallpapers – Welcome to the Silk Road. But even though you might have never traveled to Asia in your life it still feels like home as you enter the lobby and main sitting area. It is decorated like a living room and they did a fantastic job. There are so many details you could spend a day analyzing each little piece but rather than that you could enjoy your breakfast in the “living room” or in the breakfast room with jade colored decorations.

Let me tell you about the rooms …. so beautiful and my favorite called the Marco Polo room with its beige brown tones and intricate wallpapers – i fell in love. So comfy and the only thing sticking out is the damn LCD Tv which you have to put into each room in every hotel everywhere. But at least it’s cutely balanced on old books.

Also if you have the time stick around for the afternoon tea, with home-made cookies and scrumptious sticky pastries from Pâtisserie des Rêves. If you belong to the group of people who love the Champs-Élysées (i would not know why) which is minutes away from the hotel – you could walk with the hordes of people and eat at McDonalds but i would rather recommend to jump in the Metro around the corner and explore all the other enchanting areas of Paris rather than their shopping highway.

“If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast.” – Ernest Hemingway
