The never-ending story of bread

So everybody probably already told you how good the bread in France is. From the Baguette to the Pains it’s all about the fluffy, crunchy, savory goodness. And Paris is its capital and even a city with so many bakeries has a top list and Du Pain et Des Idees is definitely among them.

Here everything is about bread and it even looks like something out of a french movie. The gold lined wooden frames – the shiny brass – the understatement of elegance.

This bakery dates back to 1889 and was bought by the owner Christophe Vasseur in 2002 and made into what it is today with tasty pastries like the pistache or praline escargot or the yummy pain au chocolat. Or chow down on a pavé filled with spinach and goat cheese. Breadwise i can recommend the Pain des Amis which is to die for.

Just in case you haven’t had enough try the Croissant a l’eau de rose and the Le Pain au Cacao.

So from the bottom of my heart as a lover of bread (damn you carbs!!!) and Mr. Vasseurs vision:

“I’m going to make you bread like you’ve never seen before, and in this bread there will be love and friendship” – Marcel Pagnol
