Home away from home

There is always a reason to visit Vienna’s little brother/sister GRAZ, from the incredible architecture to the lively student scene or the intriguing events. Where to stay? Where to stay? Amedia!

As I was visiting the Chef Days I wanted to be close to the trade show floor (Messe Gelände) and still be able to go downtown in a couple of minutes. The Amedia Luxury Suites were my haven for this stay and provided my home away from home. In walking distance to the Messe Gelände this hotel is providing 49 differently styled rooms by local artist Art Gutsche who left her signature style in each one of them. The rooms start at 35m2 and have a kitchen which is an essential equipment as most visitors stay for 14 days and more (and through that get better rates too). This point alone makes it that important to the owners and staff to create a homey feel in each apartment as part of their clientele are business travelers who don’t want to rent an apartment while they are in town. And all that I could enjoy too and I only stayed for a night.

With that in mind they completed their offer with a Shopping Service, Laundromat and Laundry Service, Hotelomat (an automated system to check in an out), Grill Lounge, Sauna and a Personal Trainer (who takes you sightseeing at the same time).

I didn’t get the chance to go out with the personal trainer which sounded awesome by the way but the Sauna with a view was very relaxing, the room was nicely decorated and I slept like a baby. One of the most important things in a hotel for me is to have the opportunity to black out the sun if I want to sleep in. The curtains are so opaque that the room is pitch black when drawn, a blissful night was my reward.

Thanks to the helpful staff and their low-key approach I had a wonderful time.
See you guys soon.
