Gramm - Brussels, Belgium

Ounce by Ounce

No frills or unnecessary pretension on the plates or in the attitude of the waiters. This modern refreshing restaurant in an upcoming part of Brussels offers an exciting and creative cuisine in with Japanese and Breton influences which is not a surprise because the self-taught chef Erwan Kenzo Nakata is as you would have guessed Japanese/Breton.

The Eurasian 5 course menu for a reasonable price (38 euros) is a wonderful step from away from the standard food fares and if you are a curious foodie i would highly recommend this. The chef loves to mix the french and Japanese cuisine with the main focus being french.

The freshly made bread and butter is outstanding so this time don’t hold back.

The gargantuan neon sign in the window is just lovely and makes a cool contrast to the minimal interior.

Here is a short list of the dishes we had in random order and also might miss something because i don’t have an eidetic memory so bear with me.

Cochon (pig), Apple, Lemongrass, Onions

Duck, Beetroot, Cherry, Popcorn

Vadouvan (indian spice), Cabbage, Mackarel
