Hidden in plain sight

Hidden and in plain sight would be the best description of the Park Hyatt as you can enter the hotel either from it’s discreet entrance from a tiny side street or from the huge ass shopping mall that connects to it. Mostly cabs will drop you off at the main entrance. I personally love the Park Hyatt chain and so I was excited to stay in another for an exciting experience. The Art Nouveau style Levantehaus is definitely an eye catcher as you enter and the service in the whole hotel is impeccable, as you would expect from a Park Hyatt.

To get to my room I had to take two elevators – one to get to the reception desk on the second floor and the second to my room. The style of the whole hotel is a bit late 90s with lots of wood paneling (which I loved) and carpets on the room floors (not a fan) – the light situation could also use and overhaul as there is not a whole lot of natural light in the reception area. The carpets in the rooms are fresh and comfy on the feet as is the reduced style of the room with high ceilings, wooden panels. The bathroom is the highlight equipped with a separate toilet, a tub (standard-clean-good looking) and the walk-in shower with a rainforest shower head and a side handholding one. Both point to a SEATING area where I could sit down under all that hot steaming water and let all worries be washed away after a day of sightseeing in the city. Bliss.

The highlight of the hotel beside the perfect location for sightseeing and shopping is the huge pool and especially in my opinion the 4mx4m Whirlpool were I could relax after a day of walking around. From there I hopped over for a steam/sauna experience. The only downside is the problem with rust on some of the metal surfaces. (I checked with management – this should be a thing of the past by the time you guys read this)

Time to go for breakfast.

The breakfast menu has the classics made with high quality ingredients and almost everything you heart desires made to order. The Eggs Benedict are delectable as are the pancakes or the French toast (all ordered). What stayed in mind is their wonderful cheese collection that ranges from mild brie to hardened aged pieces.

What else is there to say? Nothing… Bring the bubblies
