Little Kulalas big sister the Kulala Desert Lodge offers a wonderful experience for the adventurers among us. Literally in the middle of nowhere, a place where the desert surrounds you, this little piece of heaven invites its guest in, to relax at the pool, take stroll through the desert and provides an unrivaled access to Sossusvlei and its magnificent red dunes. It is definitely a little more low-key than their grand sister Little Kulala but this also shows in the rates. Relaxing for an afternoon nap under the mosquito net with a splendid view of the Namib Desert you realize how beautiful this country is and just that moment an Oryx passes right in front of your Veranda, stops and waits for you to take a picture (We do believe that one Oryx lives there).
This is a family friendly place with a big dining area and a spacious veranda from where you can enjoy the sunset and take amazing pictures of the dried out (was at our stay) riverbed.
From there the lodge offers a huge variety of activities because even though it’s a beautiful lodge you probably didn’t come to the Namib Desert to chill out in your bungalow all day long. So take a chance and experience nature. Recommended trips are definitely – Sossusvlei and Dead Vlei, Sesriem Canyon and for all you guys who love nature up close – The Walking Trail.
The earth is not ours, it is a treasure we hold in trust for future generations. (Namibian Proverb)
